What We Think
The Praia des Chaves beach is truly a sight to behold – a huge golden sweep of sand stretching into the distance. The Royal Decameron Hotel, spread across a gentle slope overlooking the beach, has an enviable view of this expanse of sand, and some of the best facilities anywhere in the Cape Verde Islands.
One of the best points about the all-inclusive Royal Decameron is its versatility. It is both a lively hotel with plenty of activities, yet quiet enough – and so well located – to be perfect for couples looking for a quiet retreat. There are daily organised activities should you want to keep busy, and a bustling Kid’s Club with loads going on each and every day. There is also nightly entertainment in the main bar area, featuring local musicians playing the delicate Boa Vistan mornas famous around the world.
Guest rooms are well furnished and located in low-rise two storey buildings with a terrace or balcony, some of which benefit from a glorious sea view.
In terms of facilities, it has 3 restaurants, a pool and beach bar, both of which serve snacks, a disco and even an open-air theatre. It also has an extensive fitness and beauty centre (where you can get a relaxing massage), not to mention tennis courts, an archery centre, table tennis and volleyball. And lets not forget the two large and impressive swimming pools.
All this and if you want to explore, there are plenty of opportunities to get out and about and see the rugged Boa Vistan landscape, and visit the island’s small capital of Sal Rei.
Our opinion: An excellent all inclusive hotel run by the respectable Decameron Resorts Group, in a superb beachfront location appealing to couples and families alike.
