A tranquil hotel set in spacious grounds next to the sandy beach of São Pedro and ideal for either an active or relaxing holiday.
The Foya Branca is an excellent resort hotel with extensive amenities close to the island’s capital of Mindelo, which provides a more relaxing alternative to the town centre properties.
The hotel is situated in well-tended gardens overlooking the beach with two swimming pools, a children’s pool and play area. Sports facilities include a gym and tennis court.
There is a choice of two bars plus a stylish restaurant and snack bar in which to dine or alternatively a free shuttle bus service takes guests to Mindelo, ten minutes drive away, with its many bars and restaurants.
Guest rooms in the newer block are light and airy with good furnishings throughout and are located over two floors with either a terrace or balcony. The Junior Suites are the original rooms of the hotel They are sea facing, spacious and can accommodate up to two children, an ideal choice for families.
We recommend the hotel's main restaurant for dining in the evening which offers both a la carte and table d'hote menus. There is a wide choice of local and international cuisine on offer with fish options tending to be the 'catch of the day'. Although waiter service in general can be slow in Cape Verde in this particular restaurant it is well worth the wait. If you are planning to head out to sample the nightlife in Mindelo after dinner, our tip is to order your food immediately on arrival at the restaurant prior to ordering your drinks.
Fishing, diving and horseriding can all be arranged at the hotel during your stay (payable locally).
Our opinion: Foya Branca is a well presented hotel and a good choice for an active or relaxing holiday with vibrant Mindelo in easy reach for a night out.
