There are four Family Suites at the Morabeza which consist of two separate bedrooms (with doors), one with twin beds, the other with a double bed and a small lounge area. Room amenities include a ceiling fan, small fridge, television, telephone and patio with a land/garden view. Bathrooms have a shower. This room type has not yet been refurbished. Sleeps up to 5 people (4 adults and 1 child).

There are 3 Duplex units at the Hotel Morabeza. These units consist of 2 floors in an open mezzanine style, therefore sleeping areas are open with no doors to separate. The 1st floor consists of two beds and a terrace, the ground floor has two beds, a bathroom, dressing area, a small seating area and a terrace - Sleeps up to 4 people.

Hotel Description

The Morabeza, a local word for hospitality, is the longest established hotel on Sal. Its popularity is largely due to its fantastic location right next to the sandy beach and the personal service that guests receive. Originally the home of a Belgian family, the Morabeza is still owned by the same family and has developed into a very attractive and much sought after hotel, now run by Sophie Marcellesi, the granddaughter of the original owners.

The grounds are large with tropical flowers lining pathways leading down to ‘Le Beach Club’, which has a reputation for being the perfect spot for lunch. The Beach Club also offers a number of superb watersports facilities. The Morabeza offers numerous activities to choose from, however there is no music by the pool to disturb the tranquillity of this hotel.

Our prices are based on superior land view rooms with the Bon Appetit dining option which includes dinner taken in Les Palmiers restaurant on the first night, last night and the Saturday barbecue buffet during each week of your stay. On other nights the hotel offers the choice of a main and à la carte restaurant, or the restaurants and bars in Santa Maria are just a short stroll away. Alternatively, guests can choose to book nights on Half Board in addition to the Bon Appetit dining option. Junior, family and master suites or duplex room upgrades are available on request.

Our opinion: Simply the best hotel in Cape Verde in a prime position on Santa Maria beach enjoyed by many returning guests year after year.
